Katerina Salsano is a fiction and nonfiction writer who focuses her efforts on relatable coming of age stories, dark tales, and fantasy sagas with a heavy emphasis on mental health and introspective symbolism. Through feeling stories of personal struggles through the eyes of her main characters, Katerina hopes to inspire and challenge her audience to think from a different perspective as they move forward in their own lives.

She works primarily with print and online forms of publishing for novels, screenplays, short stories, and children's stories.  She has expanded her experiences to writing original screenplays, comics, documentaries, and game concepts which she hopes to continue into production into the future. Katerina is excited to work with each of these mediums and continue to bring her unique mentality, insight, and style to each of her writings.

Katerina is currently the owner of three blogs. Her main blog, "Transcending Thoughts," has won two peer nominated awards (The Sunshine Bloggers Award and the Blogger's Recognition Award) for their emotionally raw and inspiring content. In 2001, she also received Reading Rainbow's Young Writers and Illustrators Award for her original short story named "Sammy" which follows the journey of a skunk. The story addresses bullying and was featured on the literary education show, Reading Rainbow.

Currently, Katerina is Vice Chair of the Russian Adoptees Nonprofit Organization. Being adopted from Russia herself, it is her hope to be a light for other adoptees who feel lost in the darkness.
